Beaufort Shrimp Festival (October 2 to 3, 2026)
The 32nd Annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival takes place Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3, right on the water at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort. Local chefs cook up their best shrimp dishes, there is an art and craft market, and live music fills the park in the evening. If you want to understand why people fall in love with Beaufort, spend a Saturday here with a plate of fresh shrimp and the river right in front of you.

Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival (October 12 to 20, 2026)
Bluffton knows how to celebrate. This is a full week of events, from paddleboard and kayak tours on the May River to boat tours and live music. The big weekend is the Streetfest on October 19 and 20, when more than 100 artists set up along the streets of Old Town and team up with local restaurants. If you have never walked Old Town Bluffton, this is the perfect excuse. It is one of the most charming spots in the whole Lowcountry.

A few smaller favorites in October
There is more happening than only the big two. The Fish and Grits Music Festival on Hilton Head Island (October 3) is a warm, family-friendly celebration of Gullah Geechee food and music. When the weather cools, the oysters come in. The Hilton Head Oyster Festival runs the evening of November 6 at Shelter Cove Community Park and continues on November 7 at Lowcountry Celebration Park. Fresh local oysters, music, and that easy island feeling. A nice way to close out the season. If classic cars are more your thing, the Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival also rolls into town in November - something for everyone here.
